As I mentioned in my last post, Walt arrived at my house to much excitement and fanfare. He had come all the way from sunny Queensland for an outback adventure...and adventure he got!
While WALT was here we took him to sit on the Big Chair...
we shared some of our mining history...
During WALT'S visit we also got the chance to go out to visit my family on their property. This meant WALT slipped over the border into South Australia for a day!
WALT got the chance to appreciate the wide open spaces...
meet some of the family
and join in a birthday celebration.
turning 5! |
We have absolutely loved having WALT to stay and while we have enjoyed showing him around our home, Master 9 and Miss 7 have been inspired to find out a little about his home town and think about the differences and similarities.
WALT has had lots of laughs and many little arms around him thanks to the Little B's and their cousins (he may also have had some rather sticky, cakey fingers on him and a little red dirt on his fur but all with love!). We are sending him on with lots of happy thoughts
Bon Voyage WALT....we wonder what you will get up to next?!
I am linking up with Jacana from WALT'S home town and her Totally Thursday
Kate xx
STOP THE PRESS...WALT's bags are packed and he is ready to go but he decided to stop at the Little B's school on the way. It was so exciting HE LOST HIS HEAD!!!!!
He is going to need a couple of days to "pull himself together" before he is ready to travel again. Sorry...he is coming!
Walt has seen all of the best bits of Broken Hill and beyond! I love that zebra cake. How unfortunate that he lost his head...I know he is in good hands for repairs! x
ReplyDeleteHe is looking much better already Jane. A little post-op recovery and it should be all good ;)
DeleteGlad Walt is coming along Kate. I was a little worried there for awhile, but I know he is in good hands. xox
ReplyDeleteWALT is very lucky I am a Bear Doctor Extraordinaire (and handy with a needle and thread!)
DeletePoor Walt, looks like he is having a great time and is in very good hands, loved your photos. xxx Rae
ReplyDeleteThanks Rae
DeleteHehe so excited he lost his head. I am glad he got it back. It looks like Walt is having a ball travelling and sight seeing.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't so excited when I got a call from the teacher about poor Walt but it's all good now :)
DeleteIt's never a proper holiday if some first aid isn't required!
Nothing like parting so hard you loose your head, hehe. Looks like he has had a brilliant time and loads of love. So much better than being in a bin in an Op Shop. Thanks for having him Kate.
ReplyDeleteIt was our pleasure. So many good things have come from his visit!
DeleteOh no poor walt! lol. Looks like he was well loved with your family, gee, he's getting around the country :)
ReplyDeleteHe sure is Alicia! He is now on his way to another NSW location although I nearly had to smuggle him out as no-one wanted to say goodbye :)
ReplyDeleteLosing his head probably isn't the smartest thing a bear can do but I sure hope he remembers all the great stuff he did with your family!
ReplyDeleteI hope so Carol. Thanks for dropping in :)
DeleteOH MY GAWD that is hilarious - losing his head, my kids probably loosened it for you Kate, SORRY! Looks like he had a ball, as I knew he would over with you. I almost wish I was there with him, looks so peaceful xx
ReplyDeleteYou can't say he has not been well loved so far! I do hope he can hold it together from here on in...it is not a good feeling to have a visiting friend fall apart so dramatically, especially when you have to own up to so many avid WALT watchers!
