Giddy with excitement, I promised my family an apple treat using our beautiful pink lady apples from our back yard. One of my favourite recipe books, "The Country Table" from the Australian Women's Weekly was dusted off and my peeler was put to work.
My house smells amazing and apple crumble is on the menu tonight! I can't wait. I will be waiting in eager anticipation for our apple crop next year. Who knows what it will bring.
Oh I am so glad there is someone else out there that gets excited by their small crop production. We've managed 4 beans so far this year.
ReplyDeleteIt is lucky small things can excite me but Rome wasn't built in a day, hey?!
DeleteHooray Kate...a small harvest is better than no harvest and what better way to celebrate than with a crumble! Same for us with pears this year...four from memory. Beautiful photos and now I am craving apple crumble with my cup of tea! x
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane. There is of course none left. It was good! x
DeleteSomewhere there's a perfect harvest - enough to eat but not so many that you're overwhelmed. Sadly we seem never to hit that and we have nothing or a glut. Your crumble looks good.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right Anne and considering I had enough apples to make one crumble it was probably the perfect amount for my busy week!
