Here & Now ~ April
Loving // The autumn weather that comes with April and school holidays. Crisp mornings and sunny days make it weather for getting out and about. I love that we only have to drive for five or ten minutes in any direction and we are out in the bush where we can sit in the shade of a gumtree and enjoy all nature has to offer in this part of the world
Eating // Sausages in bread in the sandy creek bed
Drinking // I am using my vintage tea cups and pretty coffee mugs. Leaving them in the cupboard is a crime!
Feeling // Relaxed. It's school holidays...time for leisurely adventures, lazy mornings, reading, baking and catching up
Making // I am in the mood for making after a long break from any crafty pursuits...but where to start?!
Thinking // There are some empty spots in my garden. With the break in the unrelenting heat of summer I am thinking about planting herbs and maybe some winter vegetables. This pursuit could be a challenge with tough water restrictions in place
Dreaming // Of our next family adventure. I am not sure where it will be but I have very itchy feet and the need for something to look forward to

Winter Love
I love winter. There are so many things that I look forward to.
Okay, I don't love getting out of bed before the sun peeks out but there are so many other things that make winter.
I love....snuggling under the doona with a good book
a roaring fire
scarves
wearing boots
slow cooking
winter vegetables
crocheting and enjoying having my masterpiece over my knee
holidays in cold locations
oranges from our tree
Stay warm this weekend

The view from here
This week I have entered the world of the digital SLR camera and I have been playing. I always take lots of photographs and so I am excited about the greater possibilities at my disposal now!
While I have been out and about playing this week, I have been reminded to be grateful for a different perspective on my home town. Living in a remote centre means there is a sense of community and space to live and enjoy but with benefits there are always drawbacks.
By looking at my home through the viewfinder I have enjoyed the mining history that is left for us to see, the beauty of our surroundings and remembers to stop and count the stars. Instead of wishing for time out somewhere else to regenerate my cultural, retail, foodie self I have remembered what I get to see and live in every day. People travel from all over the world to stay where I live!

Grateful for volunteering
This week has been a struggle! It is not often that I have this feeling at work but I have lost my mojo and am counting the very hours and minutes until the holidays. I can't quite put my finger on why but I do know that this week has not been a pretty one from this teacher's chair!!!
Each week I go to Miss B's classroom to help with Literacy Groups which I really enjoy and this week in particular I am extremely grateful that I volunteer my time to do this. Miss B's teacher knows that I have spent some time in a classroom before so she planned her groups this weeks with me taking a small group for a grammar lesson. I got the teacher's book, that whiteboard, the whiteboard markers.....I loved it!
At the end of the hour she thanked me profusely, saying how lucky she was to have my help every week but I left thinking it should actually be me thanking her. This one hour reminded me that I DO love teaching, I am good at it and I really enjoy the company of small children.

I hope you all have a great weekend and if you happen to run into my mojo please send it back !

Grateful...for those little reminders
I have been following Fat Mum Slim's Photo a Day Challenge for twelve months now and it has been fun. I love taking photos and I find it sometimes helps to remind me to enjoy the everyday things in life, those little things that happen around me all the time.
Today's prompt was a hard one for me. 'What you do for fun'.. I was really stuck! Do I have fun? What is it that I call fun? Surely there is something I find fun....?
I am grateful for this little reminder that I do have fun and I often have fun every day! After much deliberation this is what I shared

Mermaids on parade
Recently the local YMCA took over the Aquatic Centre and they have added Aqua Fit classes to what they have on offer...I LOVE it!
I have tried various gym classes but I am hopeless! The whole class goes left and I go right. The whole class jogs on the spot while I am still star jumping my little heart out. The whole class moves as one while I get in quite a tangle....well I am sure you are getting the picture!
This week I am grateful for aqua fit and this is why...
What has made you feel grateful this week? I hope it has been a good one.

This week I am grateful for aqua fit and this is why...
- I have a whole hour to myself and it's all about me
- I can't fall over
- I am exercising (and laughing) with friends
- No one can see that I am coordinationally challenged
- It does not matter if it is still over 30 degrees at 6.30pm or it is 70% humidity and only the kind of weather fools go walking in!
- It is FUN!!!
What has made you feel grateful this week? I hope it has been a good one.
