Taking Stock in February

Broken Hill, NSW

I know it's almost March but I have been swept up in the back to school and the business of being a teacher this month so it is passing me by quickly!

I have seen these Taking Stock lists from Pip over at Meet Me at Mike's on a few of the blogs I read and I really enjoy reading them so I thought I would give on a go.

Making : a herb garden for preschool
Cooking : Michelle Bridges 12wbt dinners to address the holiday cheer
Drinking : cider...apple...
Reading: everything! I have just finished the new Katie Fforde, "A Vintage Wedding"
Wanting: a backpack to take on my upcoming holiday
Looking: for inspiration to give my sitting room a freshen up
Playing: with the manual settings on my camera
Deciding: how to deal with different currencies while on holiday
Wishing: it was a little easier to shift the last two kgs!
Enjoying: playing with my new editing program Lightroom
Waiting: for mail from overseas. Sometimes it takes a very long time to come.
Liking: my new Frankie4 shoes
Wondering: what kind of jacket I will need in Europe. How cold is it in spring?
Loving: the odd day to myself while I am not at work and the kids are at school
Pondering: how to fit everything in and not become too ragged around the edges
Considering: if I will be able to see The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel while it is still at the cinema
Buying: nothing at the moment. I am trying to curb my internet shopping habit to save some holiday spending money
Watching: Broadchurch on ABC. I am hooked!

Hoping: for a good year. Last year took its toll
Marvelling: at how fast my newest niece is growing

Cringing: thinking about long haul flights with children
Needing: to drink more water! I am very bad at this!
Smelling: herbs...which ones are the best for kids to grow, smell and taste?
Wearing: hats. I love them but rarely wear them, until now
Following: a lot of travel photographers on Instagram
Noticing: how my children are growing up, and how they still need to be children at the same time

Thinking: about my overseas adventure...constantly! I'm EXTREMELY excited!
Admiring: people who can make fondant icing cooperate

S
orting: through my cupboards. It's time to de-clutter
Buying: resources for my classroom
Getting: organised
Bookmarking: blogs with tips for photography
Coveting:
Palas jewellery
Disliking: the business of lunchboxes
Opening: lots of research articles relating to Early Childhood
Giggling: at some of the things
my new friends at preschool say
Feeling: inspired by clever people on Instagram
Snacking: ummm...trying not to!
Comforting: children at work
Wishing: for more Sundays
Helping: at Girl Guides. I love it!
Hearing: the kids playing in the pool. I think I might join them!

I hope that something on my list inspires you, makes you laugh or encourages you to take stock too!
Happy weekend

Christmas With Us

Christmas dawned early and bright here, with much excitement and joy. This was also mixed with a croissant breakfast and food preparation for the feasting before the family and friends arrived.

We laughed, shared, ate, drank, played with new toys, danced, sang, created memories and remembered those not with us this year.

preparing the chicken shwarma for the spit, thanks Jamie Oliver for the inspiration!
